49.7582MHz - Shimanovsk?

I ran `HROFFT' at 0857--1310JST (2357--0410z) on 2002 APR 14 to measure its frequency with meteor scatter propagation. Large number of echoes were recorded at almost the same frequency, about 49.758 12-14MHz.

Next, I will wait for a long echo and measure its more precise frequency.

On HROFFT

I set the passband of HROFFT to 950--1070Hz (the white line at the frequency scale).

The signal strength of this passband is shown at the bottom of the window. The white horizontal lines are SNR 10, 20, 30dB from the bottom. HROFFT counts the number of `strong' (S/N > 10dB) signals. They are drawn in yellow.

You can see a explanation how to read the picutres of HROFFT
in English or in Japanese.

A free software HROView (written in Japanese) for Windows is very usuful for reading the pictures.

This is not good example. I found that when my computer display was connected to my 1st computer, large noise was recorded.

I calibrated the frequency of FT-847 at 0958JST (more than 20min. before) and took a rest for a while... Therefore the `true' frequencies in the list are not so accurate.
